In 1929 Boyd Senter moved his "Senterpedes" from Okeh to the Victor label, resulting in five sessions over the next two years. With his band still based in New York, Boyd had the good fortune of taking his pick from the city's finest musicians including the Dorsey Brothers, Eddie Lang, and trombonist Charlie Butterfield. During the 1930's he settled in Detroit, Michigan where he would eventually find work outside of the music industry. Boyd Senter, the man who once called himself the "Jazzologist Supreme", led his final session in Hollywood, California on June 13th 1930 with a group made up of studio musicians.
