This recording was produced in New York City on December 22nd 1922 featuring Frank Guarente trumpet & leader, Russ Morgan trombone, Johnny O'Donnell clarinet, bass clarinet, & alto sax, Arthur Schutt piano, Russell Deppe banjo, and Chauncey Morehouse drums.
*"Nothing But" was composed by Henry Busse and Ferde Grofe, with lyrics by Sam Ward.
"The Georgians" were a smaller band assembled from members of the "Phil Specht Orchestra" led by Italian trumpeter Frank Guarente a one time student of Joe 'King' Oliver. After leaving New Orleans in 1916 he traveled the country before joining the Specht band at the Hotel Alamac in New York. In 1922 Guarente traveled across the Atlantic with this small group giving European audiences their first taste of real American jazz.
