You're My Everything
Al Bowlly acc. by Roy Fox & His Band
Lew Stone Takes the Band
This record was produced in London, England on August 8th 1932 featuring Al Bowlly vocals, with accompanists including by Roy Fox cornet & leader, and Lew Stone piano.
*"You're My Everything" was written by Harry Warren, Mort Dixon, and Joe Young.
At his start as a California dance-band leader in 1925 Roy Fox's band shared a radio spot with the Art Hickman Orchestra. In 1930 he accepted an invitation to perform in London, when his band returned to the states Roy stayed behind. Assembling a new group he then took an engagement at the Monseigneur Restaurant in Piccadilly.
Roy Fox fell ill with pleurisy and spent time convalescing in Switzerland in the Spring of 1932 during which his band was temporarily led by it's pianist Lew Stone. When his Monseigneur contract came up for renewal in the Fall of that year the management offered it to Stone who took it along with the band. In turn Roy Fox filed an injunction on the grounds of breach of contract against Al Bowlly to prevent him from performing.
