This record was produced in Chicago on July 26th 1929 by "Coon-Sanders Nighthawks Orchestra" featuring Bob Pope and Joe Richolson trumpets, Rex Downing trombone, Harold Thiell and John Thiell clarinet & alto sax, Floyd Estep clarinet & tenor sax, Joe Sanders piano & vocals, Russ Stout banjo, Elmer Krebs bass brass, and Carleton Coon director & drums.
*"The Flippity Flop" was composed by Richard A. Whiting and Sam Coslow, with lyrics by Leo Robin.
This Victor record features a song popularized in the 1929 Paramount release "The Dance of Life". It was the first film adaptation of the Broadway play "Burlesque" and starred Hal Skelly (as Ralph 'Skid' Johnson) and Nancy Carroll (as Bonny Lee King). A tragic comedy love story involving two dancers, a love for the stage, and an ongoing battle with alcoholism.
