Feat. Carleton Coon & Joe Sanders

Recorded in Kansas City, Missouri on December 13th 1927 featuring Joe Richolson and Bob Pope trumpets, Rex Downing trombone, Harold Thiell, Joe Thiell, and Floyd Estep saxophones, Joe Sanders piano & vocals, Russ Stout banjo & guitar, and Elmer Krebs tuba, and Carleton Coon drums & speech.

*"Sluefoot" Neil Moret and Joe L. Sanders.

Thanks to their saturating radio exposure many U.S. resident musicians were already familiar with songs by the "Coon-Sanders Orchestra" long before they themselves committed them to record. For example an instrumental version of this number had been recorded for Columbia by an assembly under the direction of prominent black Chicago bandleader Doc Cooke five months before this Victor release. As expected, the spelling of the song's title varied between releases, yet strangely in addition to Joe Sanders a different co-composer is listed on each (?).
