I'm Going Back To Bottomland
Clarence Williams' Jazz Kings
From "Bottomland"
This side was recorded in New York City on August 18th 1927 by "Clarence Williams' Jazz Kings".
*"I'm Going Back To Bottomland" was composed by Clarence Williams, with lyrics by Jo Trent.
This is an instrumental version of a song originally sung by Clarence Williams' wife Eva Taylor in his 1927 musical "Bottomland." Although the production was by no means a success Williams, who had put a great deal of work into writing most of the words and all of the music, would continue to record tunes from the show sporadically over the course of the next several years.
