Trumpet player, Sylvester Ahola was a film buff and the footage provided in this video is from his rare collection of home movies. Included in their cast are a number of prominent 1920's jazz men from the different bands in which he played.
The opening scenes feature, drummer Johnny Morris, and pianist & arranger Phil Wall of the Paul Specht band in 1926 when Ahola was still a member.
Ahola appears in the film himself playing his trumpet, rowing a boat, examining his camera, and standing with his parents.
Adrian Rollini (wearing the wig) and Tommy Felline appear in striped jackets for a couple of scenes shot on the roof of the Newark Branford Theater in March 1927.
Ahola's next bit of film reveals some members of the "Bert Lowe Orchestra" the group he joined after his brief stay with the "California Ramblers".
The young man seated in the car (or airplane) with the older man is Roger Wolfe Kahn.
