Bob Wilber & Kenny Davern
"Summit Reunion 1995"
Filmed at the Bern International Jazz Festival in 1995 featuring Bob Wilber soprano sax, and Kenny Davern clarinet, accompanied by Johnny Varro piano, Marty Grosz guitar, Milt Hinton bass, and Jake Hanna drums.
Kenny Davern and Bob Wilber first made a name performing together at Dick Gibson's Colorado Jazz Party in 1971. Their spontaneous collaboration gave birth to "Soprano Summit" one of the most important traditional jazz groups of the 1970's. Based on a format that featured both Wilber and Davern alternating between the clarinet and various saxophones this group enjoyed a very successful string of concerts and recording sessions.
Although the original group disbanded in 1979 it was revived as the "Summit Reunion" in 1991.
