Harold "Scrappy" Lambert a pianist and cheerleader at Rutgers University formed a vocal duo with fellow student Billy Hillpot. They were discovered by Ben Bernie who signed them to perform with his band in 1926. Billed as "Lambert & Hillpot" they appeared on many of Bernie's recordings and would remain with his esteemed Orchestra until 1928.
