After Hurricane Katrina the city of New Orleans began the arduous task of rebuilding both its infrastructure and cultural identity.

During this period returning residents that left during the flood were joined by musicians from other parts of the country who had begun to settle there.

Among them was woman of jazz Aurora Nealand a soprano saxophonist who is truly deserving of our praise for her exceptional ability and dedication to the NOLA tradition.
