Frequently billed as "The Girl with the Million Dollar Smile" Esther Bigeou was a blues singer born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1895. In 1913 she began touring the Vaudeville circuit with fellow performer, playwright, and future husband Irvin C. Miller and in 1917 appeared in his revue "Broadway Rastus". Traveling extensively up and down the East Coast between cities including Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York City, Esther still found the time to cut some records for Okeh in 1921 and 1923 and thankfully among them was this wonderful side.
