Recorded in New York City on September 6th 1923 featuring Bill Moore and Frank Cush trumpet, Lloyd Olsen trombone, Bobby Davis and Jimmy Duff clarinet & alto sax, Fred Cusick (or Orville Gibbs) tenor sax, Adrian Rollini bass sax, Irving Brodsky piano & arranger, Ray Kitchingman banjo, and Stan King drums.

-The whistling & vocals are provided by band members.

*"Last Night on the Back Porch (I Loved Her Best of All)" was composed by Carl Schraubstader, with lyrics by Lew Brown.

The song was initially introduced to Broadway audiences as performed by Winnie Lightner in a string of revues produced by George White, dubbed "George White's Scandals".

The "California Ramblers" gang appear as the "Varsity Eight" on the Cameo label for the performance of this favorite collegiate offering arranged by pianist Irving Brodsky and featuring some exquisite group singing.
