This side was recorded in Richmond, Indiana on April 6th 1923 with King Oliver and Louis Armstrong cornets, Honore Dutrey trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Lil Hardin-Armstrong piano, Bud Scott banjo & speech, Bill Johnson bass, and Baby Dodds drums.

*"Dipper Mouth Blues" was composed by King Oliver and Louis Armstrong.

First recorded by Armstrong with the King Oliver band, although he is often only credited as its co-author this tune is most likely to have originated with Louis Armstrong. It would be recorded by Louis Armstrong again two years later with the "Fletcher Henderson Orchestra" in May of 1925 as "Sugar Foot Stomp" arranged by saxophonist Don Redman.
